OUR ACTIONS
To fulfill its mission and meet the essential needs of Togolese communities,
BATISSEURS REUNIS acts with determination across several strategic areas of social life.
We firmly believe that sustainable progress comes from concrete, targeted actions designed to generate real positive impact.
Our initiatives are not limited to one-time interventions: they aim to sustainably transform daily life, provide new opportunities for youth, strengthen social cohesion, and promote the economic and cultural empowerment of citizens.
Every project we undertake is designed to be meaningful, combining innovation, solidarity, and civic engagement.
Through this approach, BATISSEURS REUNIS contributes to building stronger, more resilient communities that are better prepared to face present and future challenges.
Education
Education is at the heart of our priorities. We believe it is the key to opening the way to a better future. Our actions include:
- Socio-cultural activities and educational programs for youth.
- Distribution of school supplies to disadvantaged students.
- Prevention of unintended pregnancies and support for adolescent girls.
- Assistance in obtaining birth certificates for unregistered children.
- Renovation or construction of schools and creation of libraries.
- Hosting and mentoring expatriate volunteers and interns.
Health
Health is essential for the well-being of communities. We conduct awareness campaigns and provide targeted support:
- Awareness campaigns against STIs/HIV, Hepatitis B, and diabetes.
- Food support and assistance for people with ectodermal dysplasia.
- Support and assistance for people with disabilities.
- Interventions and consultations via our CMS LE SEUL Medical and Social Center, a key actor in these actions.
Environment
- Build proper dumping sites to prevent illegal dumping of waste.
- Organize waste collection and sorting in villages.
- Plant trees and create green spaces.
- Raise public awareness about environmental protection.
- Fight plastic waste and encourage its reduction and recycling.
- Protect rivers, springs and water points from waste and polluting products.
- Organize community sanitation days in villages.
- Fight bush fires and raise awareness of the consequences of burning.
- Promote sustainable agriculture, notably the reasoned use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
- Protect animals and fight against their mistreatment and abandonment.
- Create community nurseries to produce seedlings for reforestation.
- Set up environmental clubs in schools to raise children’s awareness from an early age.
- Organize clean-up campaigns for waterways and public spaces.
Citizenship
We work to build a just and peaceful society by organizing awareness activities on:
- Non-violence, a culture of peace, and rules in public places.
- The rights and duties of citizens, and participation in collective-interest actions.
- Respect for laws and regulations.
- Respect for the authorities and institutions of the Republic, and for public property.
- Respect for the rights and freedoms of others, and the protection of public spaces and facilities.
- Road safety.
Children’s Rights
Children are the future of our society, and their development is a collective responsibility. We are committed to protecting and defending their rights, promoting their access to quality education and encouraging them to stay in school, particularly children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our goal is to give every child, whatever their situation, the means to build a better future and become a positive actor in their community. To achieve this, we carry out several actions in the field through:
- Raising parents’ awareness of the importance of recognizing the child and establishing the child’s civil status.
- Raising children’s awareness of their rights and duties.
- Raising mothers’ and families’ awareness of the administrative and legal procedures for establishing filiation.
- Referring families to the competent services: civil registry, social services, child protection structures or legal professionals.
- Support with paternity recognition procedures, where possible and in compliance with legal procedures.
- Family mediation, where conditions allow, to promote an amicable resolution of inheritance and paternity issues, all in compliance with legal procedures.
- Protecting children from stigmatization, exploitation and discrimination related to their family situation.
- Organizing leisure, sports, cultural and educational activities and personal development activities for children.
- Fighting against early marriages.
Women’s Empowerment
We support the economic and social empowerment of women through:
- Training and development of income-generating projects.
- Support for creating and strengthening local cooperatives.
- Technical and financial assistance to sustain activities.
